The Fellowship Journey

Fellowship Experience

Harrison MacRae (’21 Fellow) served as a Strategy and Analytics Lead in Missouri’s Department of Administration, where he improved the employee experience in government. He used data to push for livable wages and built feedback loops to help struggling divisions—many serving at-risk communities—strengthen their workforce.

Where They Are Now

Today, Harrison leads tech policy initiatives for Pennsylvania. He led the state’s first generative AI pilot, saving employees across departments 90 minutes a day to focus on higher-impact work. Unveiling the results with Governor Shapiro at Carnegie Mellon, he showed his commitment to building systems that empower public servants and deliver stronger results for communities.

$75: Power a Mentorship Match. Your gift funds the curated resources that connect a Fellow with a member of our League of Innovators for essential, one-on-one career coaching.
$200: Discover Future Leaders. You will fund a targeted recruitment event that allows us to engage and inspire the promising, historically underrepresented candidates our communities need to lead in government.
$500: Send a Fellow to Training. Your gift sends one GFA Fellow to our flagship training institute, where they will build the foundational skills needed to create a more fair and just government for all.
$1,000: Launch a New Government Partnership. You will empower our Partnerships team to establish a new relationship with a government agency, creating a vital placement opportunity for a GFA Fellow to serve.
$4,000: Deliver Expert Instruction to a Cohort. Your gift ensures an entire cohort of Fellows learns from the best. You will provide them with a full day of specialized training from a top expert, giving them the strategic skills to solve complex government challenges.
